Amendments to Social Security Act to do with Maternity and Sick Leave Benefits

The Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment Creations, under recommendation of the Social Security commission has adjusted the amounts payable to people on maternity leave or extended sick leave. This was Gazetted on 25 March 2022.

 

Expectant mothers will now receive their full salary up to N$ 15,000.00 for a maximum of 12 weeks. Expectant mothers are still required to submit all the required forms on the applicable deadlines. The forms are available for download on the Social Security Commission website. https://www.ssc.org.na/

 

Those on extended sick leave can now claim 75% of their salary up to N$ 11,250.00 for the first 12 months of sick leave, there after they can claim 65% of their salary up to N$ 9,750.00. The forms are available for download on the Social Security Commission website. https://www.ssc.org.na/
