Whilst studying he lectured in Business Law at the Witwatersrand Technicon and thereafter was a legal advisor for the Value Added Tax department of the South African Revenue Service. He was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 1998.

Simon has always had a passion for tax law, especially tax planning and tax litigation and specialised in this field of law since admission as an attorney. Simon left the legal practice to become part of small team of specialists dealing in structured finance and offshore reinsurance products. During his employment with mCubed Specialised Investments, he gained valuable experience in international financing arrangements, international tax planning and reinsurance.

Living in Namibia was a heart’s desire which came true in 2006, when the law firm LorentzAngula Inc. gave Simon the opportunity to become a shareholder in their commercial services company, L&B Commercial Services (Pty) Ltd. His focus remained tax law, and the practice grew to include commercial legal work, judicial administration and insolvencies.  Simon is a Permanent Resident of Namibia and over the years, has become a highly regarded tax practitioner in Windhoek.

As taxation partner of BDO, he looks forward to offer specialist tax and commercial legal services to BDO’s Namibian and International clients, enhancing the complete business advisory service offered by BDO.
